Location: Durban.

 

Our client based in Durban is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to join their team.

The successful applicant will oversee the sales function, build lasting client partnerships, and bring solid communication and leadership skills to the team. The position centres on driving new business growth while managing and expanding relationships with major strategic accounts.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Track key performance indicators and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in major client accounts.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections.
  • Support employee growth and oversee performance management within the team.
  • Direct a national team of sales staff toward achieving performance goals.
  • Keep the sales team informed and prepared for upcoming product launches.
  • Conduct market research to uncover new business opportunities and prospective clients.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Product Development to maintain consistent brand messaging.
  • Design and roll out sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Lead negotiations and finalize deals with high-value clients.
  • Deliver prompt, practical solutions that meet client requirements.
     
Requirements:

 

        • Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Sales and Marketing / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or equivalent (essential).
        • Extensive sales experience in flexible packaging, chemical, paint, ink, adhesives or related manufacturing.
        • Extensive experience in national sales and marketing at a management level.
        • Experience managing a high performance sales team.
        • Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
        • An ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics.
        • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills.
        • Strong communication and team management skills.
        • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
        • Availability to travel as needed.
