Location: Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal

 

Our manufacturing client based in Durban is looking for an Internal Salesperson to join their team.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare accurate quotations for steel fabrication projects based on customer requirements, drawings, specifications and measurements.
  • Read and interpret technical and fabrication drawings to understand project requirements and accurately scope work.
  • Liaise with existing customers regarding quotations, orders, job progress, lead times and delivery requirements.
  • Attend to walk-in customers, understand their requirements and provide appropriate product and fabrication solutions.
  • Conduct cold calling and proactive business development to identify and secure new customers within the steel fabrication market.
  • Reconnect with previous and inactive customers to identify new opportunities and generate repeat business.
  • Follow up on quotations and maintain regular communication with customers to maximise conversion of enquiries into orders.
  • Work closely with the workshop and fabrication team to ensure customer requirements, drawings, specifications and deadlines are clearly communicated.
  • Obtain and assess project information including material requirements, dimensions, quantities and fabrication specifications to support accurate estimating.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer enquiries, quotations, orders and follow-ups while ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the sales process.
     
Requirements:
     

  • Matric.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Cost estimating (advantageous).
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
