SPECIALIST POWDER SPRAYER / POWDER COATING SUPERVISOR

Location: Durban

Our client based in Durban is looking for an experienced Powder Sprayer / Powder Coating Specialist to oversee their powder coating department.

The successful candidate would be responsible for the performance and supervision of the powder coating department by planning, organising, controlling, leading and co-ordinating the powder coating activities of the organisation, ensuring that production quotas are met on schedule.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide supervision for production in the powder coating department.
  • Provide production quantity and quality control in the powder coating section.
  • Monitor the financial performances of the production department to ensure company goals are met.
  • Maintain and control the use of machinery in the powder coating section.
  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required.
  • Ensure implementation and evolution of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure stock control is maintained through stock take, ordering of stock as well as receiving and dispatch.
  • Effluent treatment and plant maintenance.
  • Quality checks with record keeping.
  • Chemical tank analysis with record keeping.
  • Comply with all regulatory safety policies and standards as well as ensure that PPE is worn at all times.
  • Adhere to late coming and absenteeism policies.
  • Good housekeeping – 5S.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure PPE, tools and equipment are stored correctly.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Matric.
  • Relevant qualifications.
  • Relevant experience in the steel fabrication / metal production industry.
  • Powder coating experience. Able to powder coat components.
  • Technically able to conduct investigations.
  • Ability to service and maintain powder coating equipment.
  • Supervisory experience and competence in Microsoft package
  • Valid Driver’s License.
