SERVICE TECHNICIAN [NETHERLANDS]

Our client in the Netherlands is looking for a South African ServiceTechnician to relocate.
We are ideally looking for candidates who can speak basic Dutch / or fluent Afrikaans (and willing to learn Dutch).
As a Service Technician, the main focus will be troubleshooting breakdowns and conducting associated analyses, as well as carrying out corrective maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying and analyzing reported breakdowns or deviations in production equipment and determining their root cause. If needed, engaging expertise or support in line with internal guidelines, procedures, and work instructions to ensure clarity of the issue.
- Assessing the potential impact of the breakdown/deviation in consultation with the production department to assign the correct priority.
- Performing corrective maintenance related to breakdowns, guiding and supporting colleagues or external parties involved, in accordance with procedures and work methods, to minimize disruption to production processes.
- Initiate and implement improvements wherever possible. The factory operates 24/7, using complex installations (high-voltage systems, control systems) and equipment (measurement, regulation, and pneumatic tools).
- Handle the standard troubleshooting tasks as a Service Technician.
- Participate in (improvement) projects to enhance the performance of the factory. This includes considering machine safety (Lock Out, Tag Out, Try Out), food safety, and ensuring proper administrative processing in our maintenance management system.
Requirements:
- A completed Millwright Trade Test or a relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics, and/or several years of work experience in a similar position.
- Affinity with electrical and control systems.
- A preference for the dynamic nature of a complex factory environment.
- Availability for 5-shift work.
- Ability to quickly adapt to various tasks.
- Capacity to maintain an overview of multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and act accordingly.
- A responsible, decisive, results- and action-oriented mindset. Alongside other service technicians, you are prepared to roll up your sleeves.
- Safety and quality are your top priorities. With your technical expertise, you contribute to optimal plant performance, minimizing breakdowns and downtime.
