SALES MANAGER [MANUFACTURING]

Location: Polokwane

Our national Client, based in Polokwane, is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will effectively manage, develop and control the sales function by achieving and increasing sales targets above budgeted targets, GP budgets and growing sales in the professional segment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist sales reps in developing business plans that will ensure sales targets are achieved and needs are being met.
  • Consult with and assist sales reps to ensure appropriate roofing systems and pricing is offered to customers, contractors and architects for each sales opportunity.

  • Consult and assist sales reps to develop effective customer, contractors and architects presentations and attend meetings when required.
  • Hold sales reps accountable for performance by meeting daily, weekly with each rep to review opportunities, current leads and overall work efforts.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly performance reviews with Sales Reps, reviewing actual performance against sales targets and counsel on improvement.
  • Responsible for disciplinary action when required.
  • Maintain sales team by selecting, inducting, motivating and training employees.
  • Facilitate on-going training sessions for sales reps to enhance product knowledge.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Attend trade shows to market Safintra products.
  • Work with the Marketing Department to effectively market company within the professional market and create marketing activities and collateral aimed at increasing sales.
  • Coordinate and manage account plans, sales performance and sales forecasts.
  • Develop strategies, in conjunction with the marketing team for business growth, including how to enter new segments, manage and grow the professional base and increase opportunities for direct sales.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new products/offerings to increase sales.

  • Customer relationship management.
  • Complying with established controls and authority levels in the scope of the function
  • Handle queries on customer accounts
  • Any other duties and tasks as assigned by management from time to time

 

Requirements:

 

  • Relevant Bcom Degree.
  • 5 - 8 years progressive direct sales experience in a medium to large manufacturing organisation.
  • Valid drivers license and own vehicle
  • At least 3 years experience managing a sales team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
