Location: Durban

Our client in the automotive industry is looking for an experienced and qualified Production Supervisor to join their team in Durban.




  • Supervise the safe execution of all activities in the manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure the achievement of production and quality targets.
  • Conduct continuous risk assessments in the workplace.
  • Identify and address potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplace.
  • Apply legal safety, health and environment practices in the workplace.
  • Notify the quality department of any quality irregularities which may lead to product rejections.
  • Take ownership and accountability of producing good quality products.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality related issues.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of manufacturing policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the audit process.
  • Adhere to financial policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and liaise with internal customers.
  • Communicate and liaise with internal/external suppliers.
  • Ensure optimal plant efficiencies to achieve demand output.
  • Conduct the monthly stock take.
  • Conduct general machine, tooling and equipment maintenance.
  • Attending of relevant meetings.
  • Ensure an enabling work culture.
  • Effective and efficient communication to staff, peers and management.
  • Plan allocation of labour within area of responsibility.




  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • A background in the automotive industry is an advantage.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Working knowledge of production planning.
