NATIONAL SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER [MANUFACTURING]

Location: Durban

Our manufacturing client, based in Durban, is looking for an experienced National Sales and Marketing Manager to join their team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Sales & Marketing Strategy:

    Setting and execution of sales & marketing strategies in consultation with the management team.
    Develop and manage marketing & customer strategies to meet business objectives
    Design and develop customer acquisition and retention strategies to meet corporate business strategies
    Set marketing policy to meet business strategic plan
    Develop and monitor an annual sales plan
    Create a culture of customer service in the internal supply chain
    Instill marketing culture in all stakeholder groups
    Provide management and strategic direction to the national sales team

     

  • Marketing Management:

    Familiar with digital marketing tools including social media, website development etc and being able to develop and implement a digital marketing strategy
    Maintain excellent customer relations at all levels and management of key accounts with a strong focus on “voice of the customer”, touch point and customer journey mapping, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
    Monitor and review the Marketing activity plan
    Undertake detailed market research, monitor market shares trends and drive appropriate promotions and marketing initiatives
    Identify and utilise marketing resources to meet objectives (Advertising Agency, Web Developer, Market Research, etc.)

  • Sales Management:

    Provide management and strategic direction to the national sales team
    Setting of sales targets and balanced scorecard KPIs and driving the achievement of the targets and KPIs
    Manage adherence/compliance to Customer Supply Agreements (where applicable)
    Notify Customers of price increases

  • Project Management:

    Identify opportunities for new products or improvements to existing products
    Initiate projects in line with customer requirements
    Support the project environment and activities to deliver project objectives
    Contribute to the management of project risk within own field of expertise
    Plan, organise and support project meetings and workshops.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    Keep up to date with latest Sales & Marketing trends and adopt Best Practices
    Benchmark Sales & Marketing processes against Best Practices
    Research the Market and Competitors

  • General:

    Attend to general administrative functions in support of the above duties
    Generate sales forecasts and report on forecast errors.
    Work closely with R&D and the market, to prioritise new product developments and launch new products to market.

  • Policies and Procedures:

    Operate according to standard operating procedures and within the parameters of applicable legislation.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Sales and Marketing management experience on a national level.
  • Must come from a manufacturing background.
  • Happy to travel extensively (national and international)
