LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

Location: Port Shepstone

Our client based in Hibberdene is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their team. The incumbent will be responsible for strategically planning and managing all contractors / service providers i.e., transportation, warehousing, cargo quality surveyors and shipping agents in order to ensure that all products are correctly and effectively shipped as per production plans / targets.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate loading point, transporter, warehouse and port to achieve the daily / weekly / monthly dispatch targets.
  • Work with senior management to set daily / weekly / monthly targets.
  • Execute set plans with the support of the contractors / service providers.
  • Communicate frequently with multiple stakeholders to have live performance information.
  • Decision making to achieve daily dispatch targets.
  • Develop effective relationships and monitor performance and costs of transport contractors.
  • Oversee the transporter route planning and tracking of all vehicles.
  • Ensure that all daily recons of stock are delivered correctly.
  • Risk management and mitigation by accurately identifying risks affecting supply, delivery, and customer demand.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints within the logistics department.
  • Oversee contractors / service providers to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
  • Oversee record keeping within the lab to ensure products meet guidelines of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
  • Conduct internal audits on lab and site sampling processes including writing and implementing of procedures.
  • Oversee daily quality reporting to senior management team.
  • Engage and manage service provider in all quality related matters.
  • Ensure the Company’s Health & Safety policy is applied effectively in area of control.
  • Team management of the logistics department i.e. training, hiring, IR etc.
  • Logistics related project work.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • A clear understanding of Incoterms, processes, and procedures of exporting.
  • Must have effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and work overtime where required.
  • Working knowledge of logistics and imports/exports(road, air, and sea).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word / Excel / Outlook).
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (with Sage ACCPAC experience being advantageous).
  • Ability to build customer relationships
