Location: DurbanĀ 

Our client, based in Durban, is looking for an Internal Sales Rep to join their team. He / she will serve as the liaison between customers and all relevant internal teams - ensuring that excellent service standards are maintained.




  • Handles all incoming queries from customers (email, telephonic).
  • Promptly captures customer orders - and follows through on entire sales process, up until delivery to customer. Ensures that production and delivery deadlines are met, and quality standards are maintained.
    Handles any customer complaints or issues, liaising with relevant departments e.g. Quality Team - to ensure that re-works are completed in time and customer satisfaction retained.
  • Further feedback to be provided regarding any issues, so that they do not reoccur.
  • Compiles quotations for Sales Reps to present to new / prospective customers.
  • Regularly communicates with existing customers regarding forward-planned orders - to ensure sufficient raw materials are available.
  • Assists customers with forward-planning by comparing previous years' sales trends with current trends - to accurately predict order quantities required.
  • Ensures that all relevant paperwork for customers is up to date e.g. SLA.
  • Continuously works towards meeting / exceeding interal sales targets (up-selling, slow-moving stock - which customers could use the product? etc).
  • Monthly report: new leads, quotations submitted, status of lead i.e. closed, pending, secured. For those new leads that weren't secured, investigate reasons why and provide feedback to management (in conjunction with Sales Rep).
  • Monthly report: sales volume per customer, with % growth measurements.
  • Ensures that product knowledge is always up to date.




  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification is advantageous
  • Good computer literacy skills
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience working on an ERP system
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Professional, warm and friendly demeanor
  • Target-driven
