Location: Somerset West

Our client based in Somerset West is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team who will be responsible for the entire financial and managerial reporting function, including managing and advising supporting staff. Analysing and approving on current systems. Timeously reporting financial performance. Preparing financial forecasts and identifying and reporting deviations from budget. A proven track record in a manufacturing setup with exposure to FMCG and wholesale environment will aid and support your application.




  • Import bank statements via bank manager (allocation of debtor receipts and supplier payments)
  • Reconciliation of intercompany loan accounts on a daily basis
  • Daily stock reconciliations (maintaining production shift schedules to match with SAGE)
  • Monthly stock revaluation calculation (importing new unit costs)
  • Creating and maintaining inventory items and bill of materials
  • Monthly calculation of representatives’ commission
  • Monthly calculation and journalising of interest on intercompany loan account
  • Manage assigned customer problems with queries
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and reporting
  • Preparing monthly sales analysis reports (budget vs actual)
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work
  • Problem resolution
  • Cost accounting
  • Daily monitoring of production accounting
  • Assessing business expenses and preparing optimized budget plans
  • Reviewing financial records.
  • Researching market rates for key business costs
  • Adjusting company ledger to accurately reflect balance sheets
  • Sales and accounting support as assigned
  • Other general administrative duties as assigned
  • Supervising reconciliations of debtors and creditors
  • Updating sheets / Management information
  • Monitoring payments and overdue debtors follow ups
  • Debtors and Creditors application follow ups
  • Collecting and analysing data about operational costs
  • Developing and analysing cost standards
  • Cost-Volume-Profit analysis
  • Preparing audit reports




  • Matric
  • Tertiary Qualification in Accounting
  • Professional work experience and proven track record in the manufacturing field
  • SAGE 200 Evolution experience in manufacturing of products
  • MyCHEP experience/knowledge will be an advantage but not essential
  • Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills preferred (Advanced)
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing business environment is essential
