Location: Cape Town

Our law firm Client, based in the Newlands Cape Town, is looking for an experienced Conveyancing Secretary/Paralegal to join their team.




  • Opening new instructions and drafting initial letters.
  • Organize and maintain legal paperwork, electronic files, exhibits and other important client information.
  • Act as a liaison among all parties, including clients, developers, Sheriffs, other legal parties, and deeds office.
  • Load particulars on relevant electronic systems.
  • Preparing the relevant documents for lodgement ensuring all conditions met for registration.
  • Registration of transfers from inception of instruction, including processing rates clearance applications, as well as applications for transfer duty receipt and/or exemption certificates.
  • Registration of mortgage bonds from inception of instruction.
  • Manage bond cancellations from inception of instruction.
  • Requesting and uploading of FICA documents.
  • Managing lawyers’ day-to-day calendars, arranging appointments with clients and other parties.
  • Assist in legal cost matters including drafting bills of costs and/or opposing legal bills of costs (training to be provided).
  • Responsible for invoicing and collecting payments.
  • General office administration.
  • Attend at the Deeds Office and/or other offices should the need arise.




  • Matric
  • Relevant tertiary qualification preferably in Conveyancing.
  • At least two years’ experience as a paralegal or conveyancing secretary.
  • Experience working on Lexis convey.
  • Microsoft office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to handle a high-pressure environment.
