ASSEMBLY AND DISTRIBUTION MANAGER
Location: Johannesburg
Our client based in Johannesburg is looking for an experienced Assembly and Distribution Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the assembly and distribution centre, including sales, customer liaison, key account management, order processing, supplier management, banking, management reporting, production assembly, picking, packing, shipping and installations at customers.
- Achieve sales, production and delivery goals of the distribution agency.
- Make sure goals are met.
- Adhere to approved budgets.
- Manages the financial performance and associated activities within budget.
- Manage the daily operations of the distribution agency.
- Managing the order book ,customer service and optimising processes.
- Ensuring inventory accuracy, sales and production targets are met whilst maintaining safety and efficient working conditions.
- Lead, mentor, and manage distribution centre staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and provide guidance to ensure a productive and motivated team.
- Implement inventory control measures, including stock tracking, cycle counts, and regular reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, stock movements, and adjustments.
- Continuously review and improve distribution centre processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and meet performance targets.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to distribution operations.
- Enforce quality control standards to maintain product quality and prevent damage or loss.
- Maintains ISO 9001.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a safe working environment, and respond to safety concerns or incidents.
- Ensure that distribution centre equipment, such as forklifts, vehicles and conveyor systems, is well-maintained and in good working condition.
- Schedule equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate records related to inventory, orders, safety, and distribution centre activities.
- Generate reports and provide data analysis to support management decisions.
Requirements:
- Matric.
- Related tertiary education.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Management experience.
- Sound knowledge of e-commerce
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Computer literate.
- Working experience with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.
